Análisis del lenguaje cinematográfico de las películas de terror The Witch y The Lighthouse del director Robert Eggers

Abstract

La presente investigación tuvo como tema central el estudio del tratamiento del lenguaje cinematográfico de las aclamadas películas The Witch y The Lighthouse del director Robert Eggers. Para ello, en el desarrollo de este trabajo se identificaron los elementos morfológicos y sintácticos de ambos filmes; asimismo, también se describieron sus elementos semánticonarrativos; y finalmente, se precisó y analizó la pu esta en escena de cada una. Además, se utilizó un enfoque cualitativo y un diseño hermeneútico. L a técnica que se utilizó fue el análisis de contenido y su respectivo instrumento, ficha de análisis. Los resultados arrojaron que ambas películas presentan un estilo de dirección en la que se manipularon y ajustaron todos los componentes morfosintácticos según su contenido narrativo. Además, que el montaje utilizado potencia el desarrollo de la tensión y el suspenso. Y, finalmente, que la puesta en escena fue construida en base a las particularidades dramáticas y sobrenaturales de cada narrativa.

The present research has as its central theme the study of the treatment of the cinematographic language of the acclaimed films The Witch and The Lighthouse by director Robert Eggers. For this purpose, the morphological and syntactic elements of both films were identified; likewise, their semantic-narrative elements were described and, finally, the staging of them was specified and analyzed. In addition, a qualitative approach and a hermeneutic design were used. The technique used was content analysis and its respective instrument, the analysis sheet. The results showed that both films present a directing style in which all morphosyntactic components were manipulated and adjusted according to their narrative content. In addition, the editing used enhances the development of tension and suspense. And finally, the staging was constructed according to the dramatic and supernatural particularities of each narrative.
